SAFETY ASSURANCE

Our highly skilled and experienced Safety Engineers have a solid grounding in engineering, with many years served ‘on the tools’ before specialising primarily in Nuclear Safety. This practical experience has given them a unique insight into the safety process and enables them to provide practical and implementable safety advice.

For over a decade they have been in the forefront of Safety Case production covering the full range of projects from new builds to dockyard maintenance activities. 

Their highly disciplined approach has recently enabled them to lead and motivate large engineering teams in the complex task of safety case modifications, and also produce support to international nuclear safety cases.

Their sought after skills include; Safety Case authoring; deterministic & probabilistic safety assessment, Hazard Analysis (HAZID / HAZOP), Maintenance Management, schedule production, requirements derivation, dose consequence calculation, to name just a few.

Past projects include:

• 9 Dock Maintenance Outage - delivering a large number of safety case modifications in support of dock outage upgrades and remedial works

• 9 Dock Design & Safety Management Team - providing expert safety support to the 9 Dock Facility Design and Safety Manager during the Deep Maintenance Period of a Vanguard Class Submarine

• Rolls Royce Marine - providing specialist technical safety related and general Submarine Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) advice

• MoD - Responsible for the management and production of the Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) for a large new build nuclear facility

• MoD - Facility Periodic Review of Safety (PRS)

• Heysham 2/ Torness PSA update - Conversion of the existing PSA

• Magnox Ltd., Oldbury - Operations Shift Transition Project

• M1 J10 - 13 Managed Motorways - Quantitatively demonstrate that the risk associated with a motorway operating hard-shoulder running would be reduced compared to a normally operating motorway

• Ignalina B9.1 Turbine Hall - Decommissioning Safety Case

• Wessex Water - Pumping Station HAZOP studies
